We’ve been busy!

We just finished our annual Cisco Partner Summit event and here’s a peek! Our big dramatic banners looked great in the beautiful San Diego Convention Center. We will have more photos posted to our website soon.

And…. We’re Back.

January 5th, 2012 - by Kristi McCall

Did you all have a good holiday?
We sure did! Now that whole world seems to be back and busy with their needs, today’s post will be short and vital.

Check our our cool bathrooms!
Orange for girls, black for boys, duh. I’m thinking the boys need a vintage copy of Playboy in their bathroom. Wait, what am I saying… we have work to do!

I love Charles and Ray.

Somehow this film did not make it to Cinema 9, even here in Santa Cruz… but it is now available on DVD.

Eames: The Architect and the Painter, a documentary narrated by my friend James Franco, looks to be a good one. All I can say is hurry up Amazon! I have always loved the work of this husband-wife team. Many of their significant mid-century pieces are still in production today!

Christmas shopping in 1983

December 5th, 2011 - by Kristi McCall

Wow, I don’t even know where to start. I didn’t discover Apple until 1989, in college, the night some sort of paper was due. It was probably midnight and I was ready to chuck my typewriter and clumpy liquid paper, when my downstairs neighbor suggested I try out his cute little Mac Plus.

O. M. G.

It took me literally 20 minutes to digest and be up and running. Backspace deletes!!! I was moving sentences, paragraphs, rewriting on the fly! Oh what a night… but I digress.

I cam across this site though another blog, and as you will see, Apple offered nifty promotional products as far back as 1983. I would have SO gotten that hook rug for my Mom. She would have hung it in the kitchen, next to the fruit bowl, and called it art. And the obviously I would have bought the race car too, duh.

macmothership.comhas this catalog and some awesome early Apple advertising.

Featured Client: LuckyDogs Bakery

November 22nd, 2011 - by Kristi McCall

LuckyDogs Bakery is one of our many great clients here at Jaguar Design Studio. We have been with them from the beginning and have enjoyed watching them grow monthly. They create hand-made, certified organic dog treats and distribute them to several locations within California.

We started with the brand identity and just kept going- other marketing materials include the web/shop site, shelf talkers, banners, multiple labels and the cutest t-shirt ever!

The logo was created with the help of our very talented illustrator Jon Hastings. ‘Lucky’ the real dog behind the scenes says, “It’s like looking in a mirror!”

The label
My favorite piece is the t-shirt. Here is a close-up view of the artwork on the back.

Free icons… Check out The Noun Project.

November 16th, 2011 - by Kristi McCall

The Noun Project website is really cool.

Designers, are you looking for clean, nicely designed, free icon art?

They say it best:
The Noun Project collects, organizes and adds to the highly recognizable symbols that form the world’s visual language, so we may share them in a fun and meaningful way.

What a great resource!

Who didn’t love Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom?

October 26th, 2011 - by Kristi McCall

Ah Marlin Perkins… some of us here remember you and watched your show. Well… it looks like Animal Planet brought Wild Kingdom back, and is showing classic episodes.

And hello Jim Fowler! Who knew he was once so dreamy?!
